Why a Handwriting Necklace would make the most Unique and Meaningful Gift this Christmas.

Why a Handwriting Necklace would make the most Unique and Meaningful Gift this Christmas.

Times are changing, the world is changing and our lives are changing; which in turn has meant that more and more of us are moving away from mass produced gifts towards pieces which are handmade and unique. But more than that, we are looking for gifts which are meaningful, thoughtful and full of heart and soul.

We want to find a Christmas gift which gives us that excited feeling as we watch them unwrap it, and see their face as they smile and say they love it. A gift which has been made with love, chosen with love and given with love. Something personal & heartfelt.

Handwriting as Unique as you are

This is at the heart of my new collection of Handwriting Necklaces. Handwriting is so special and unique, every person has their own style and quirks – I’m sure you could recognise all your family and friends handwriting if it was placed in front of you. Do you play that game in your head when you have a pile of Birthday or Christmas cards and see if you can guess who they are from? (Or is that just me!) I am nearly always right in my guesses!

Handwriting isn’t just writing though – it captures so much feeling, love, emotion and storytelling. There’s nothing quite like a handwritten and heartfelt note, card or letter when we are celebrating a special occasion or need support and caring words from our family and friends.

Those precious memories that we hold onto, all wrapped up in birthday cards from our parents who we have lost, notes full of love from our partner when we first met, scribbles and handmade cards from our children when they were little. We keep hold of them because they tell stories of our lives, people we have loved, happy days we have spent and memories which make us smile or perhaps make us cry.

Inspiration behind my Handwriting Necklaces

If you’ve lost someone special, you will know how hard it is to sort through everything and decide what to keep. Having lost my dad when I was 17 years old and my mum just over 3 years ago, I know how hard this is; the precious letters she had kept from her parents and my dad, her notebooks and diaries, her precious birthday cards to me, carefully chosen for their beautiful words and signed with lots of love. This is the inspiration for my Handwriting Necklaces – they come from a place of love and joyful memories as well as a need to hold onto the little things as a reminder of wonderful times.

Handwriting Love Necklaces

This is the start of an ever-evolving collection – my first design “Handwriting Love Necklaces”  might capture “love” in a child’s handwriting to their granny, or a partners handwriting to their wife, or a dad’s handwriting as a memory piece, found in a birthday card. Distinctly recognisable, written with their hand and jam-packed full of “love”.

A Meaningful Gift this Christmas

So if you’re wondering what to buy them this Christmas and are looking for something personalised, thoughtful and unique; this could be just the gift you are looking for. Made with Liberty of London fabrics in a choice of 3 colours and presented in a gift box with a message blanket – this not only keeps your necklace wrapped up safe and sound for its journey, but is also printed with “love” in handwriting too. A beautiful way to unwrap a very special gift.
